Angoul?me
For you fans of the French edition of Courtney Crumrin, I shall be traveling across the Atlantic to attend Angoul?me, the mighty French graphic album festival, at the end of this month. And if you live in France but can't make it to the festival, fear not. I shall also be making appearences all across France over the next three weeks. I'll post my appearence schedule soon. Unfortunately, I have no french beyond "Bonjour" and that sort of thing, but I'll try to learn a few key phrases such as "It is an evil children's book," and "Pass the beaujolais, silvouplait."

And if you're english isn't that great, here's all that again in babelfish-style French.

For those of you who, like me, don't speak french, that was most likely hilariously bad.

Would you like a non-Babelfish French translation? :)

Wi! Though it probably won't be as amusing.

I would also like to register my disappointment that Livejournal can't parse a few accents and umlauts. What's up with that?

Heehee. I haven't had a problem registering accents and umlauts and the like. You can switch language options on your keyboard if you go under settings. It's how I can switch between languages quickly.

And now that I think on it, I wonder how the heck Butterworm's queer way of speech translates into other languages.
I haven't yet had the pleasure of trying Beaujolais, but I hear it has a short life so drink it while it's young.

We just missed Angoul?me when we were in Paris last year. The metro had adverts in display cases. It was awesome. Please give a full report and take pictures :)

Alors! Will you be passing through London at all, mon ami?

Alas, no. Amsterdam, for just a few hours. I barely have time as it is. Come to think of it, I DON'T have time. Polly Five will be late, Folks. Sorry. But we do adore London, and will pass through again eventually.

(how's the writing career coming, BTW. Send me a private email at hushhush@tednaifeh.com.)

Hello there ! I'm French and I won't be able to see you on Monday because I'll be working that's too bad for me!!! However my boyfriend will be there...no fair :(

I’m sorry to say that the babelfish translation didn’t mean a single thing in French :s
the one of yyqqdrasil’s was not that bad but still, some phrases are not correct, if maybe I could suggest mine :

"Démoniaque" is a truly evil word, "méchant" is more like juste "being mean"

Well, see you...not :( lol and have a nice trip all over France ^^

I think "Démoniaque" is the word I'm going for. Thanks for the smart translation.
